MONDAY MOTIVATION • REVAMPING RESOLUTIONS + A FREEBIE
As January is coming to a close I can't help but reflect on my resolutions and evaluate my progress (or lack thereof). Honestly, it can be a bit discouraging when you realize you didn't quite accomplish what you might have liked to. If you are anything like me, and feel like you could have done better... I have great news. It's not too late to try again.
Currently, I work at a high school as the youth advocate. My primary role is to do just that,
advocate
for the students. I feel like I am constantly telling my students, "Today is a new day. It's a fresh start. All you have to do is be better than you were yesterday." However, for as often as I am saying this, I don't think I am as good as I should be at taking my own advice.
My goal for the new month is to simply "be better than I was yesterday". I want to focus more on the things I did well and then evaluate what I can do better. If you have fallen into a slump, if you are discouraged about your lack of progress, if you feel like all you do is continue to make mistakes, just remember:
"Today is a new day. It is a fresh start. All you have to do is be better than you were yesterday."
Lets all try to be a little kinder to ourselves. A little more forgiving. You are a work in progress.
"You make mistakes, your mistakes don't make you." - Maxwell Maltz
