This post is kind of different from what I usually write about but I think it is a very important topic. A huge aspect of Be Wise is taking care of ourselves. Health and fitness is vital to our well being. I am no expert when it comes to this stuff and I will never pretend to be. However, I AM a huge expert at putting off or finding excuses to not exercise. This is something that I have decided to work on. Not so I can have a great bod come summer time (although, Im not against that) but more so that I am healthy and actually feel good.
I created a list of a few things that I have found work for me. For the most part I believe they are super simple, because honestly, if they weren't I wouldn't be doing them. I started really focusing on getting more in shape about a month ago and so far Ive been able to stay on track with these simple little tricks.
Its really hard to accomplish something if you dont know what you're working for. Set goals for yourself, but be reasonable. If you make the goals too far fetched you will likely endup giving up too soon and accomplishing little to nothing.

This one has made a huge difference for me. Not only does it hold me accountable it helps motivate me seeing the progress Ive made. Even when they are small changes it helps a ton knowing that I am moving forward and accomplishing my goals.
I get really bad headaches very frequently and I have found that drinking water helps a ton. I discovered this handy little app called Drinking Water. Its a free app that helps track how much water you are drinking throughout the day and it helps me a ton.
When I tell myself I cant have something all it does is make me want it more. Ive never done any crazy diets and when I want a cookie, I eat it. This has worked really well for me. I know it sounds crazy and it might not work for everyone, but I have found it makes it easier to not binge on things that that I know aren't good for me.
Now I know I just got finished talking about not depriving myself but I am honestly not a huge fan of soda. In fact, I really dont like it at all. I will always pick a glass of water over soda so this one is really not too hard for me. I am sure that this has helped make a huge difference in my health. Now, this doesnt mean that I never have soda, but it is extremely rare. Occasionally I want a little bit and when I do, I allow myself to have some. I would just advise picking water over soda as often as you can.
This isn't a new concept but I try as often as I can to take the stairs instead of elevator, park farther away than normal, etc.  I dont know how much of a difference this makes but if nothing else, it makes me feel like Im progressing by making these simple changes.
I know I talk about this all the time but I think it is incredibly important.    You might not be as healthy and fit as you would like right now, but with time and effort you can be.  Don't give up. Don't be too hard on yourself. Most importantly, DO NOT COMPARE! If you are not progressing as fast, or looking as fit as someone else, its OK!  Compare yourself to YOU. Not someone else. Track your own effort and progress.

Our bodies are such incredible blessings. I think we are too quick to criticize what we have.  When I find myself being too critical or negative about my body I try instead to focus on what I love about it instead. I know it sounds silly, but make a list of all the things you love about yourself. Even if its a small list. Think of all the incredible things your body can do. Focus on those and be grateful for what you have instead of what you dont.
As I stated above, I am no expert. These are just the things that I have found work really well with me and I felt like sharing them with you.  If youre struggling with getting fit, try them out. They might just work for you too.
