WORTH EMULATING 06: SACRIFICE

I am super sorry I wasn't able to get a Worth Emulating post up last Sunday. I was busy vacationing with my family and wasn't able to get one done. However, I am pretty excited about the word for this week.
Since yesterday was Easter Sunday I was able to spend some time truly thinking about our Savior and all that he did for us.  Words cannot express how grateful I am for him and the sacrifices he made for all of us and even for me personally.
I felt it fitting to have this week's "Worth Emulating" Focus Word be SACRIFICE.
There is not one person who ever has lived or ever will live who has sacrificed more for us than Jesus Christ. He gave his life so we could live. He sacrificed for everyone. Not just those who loved and followed him. He gave up his life for those who beat and despised him.
As we strive to become more like Christ there will inevitably be sacrifices that we may need to make.  These sacrifices might be as simple as changing the music we listen to. It might mean sacrificing more of our time to serve others, read our scriptures, pray, or spend more time with family.  Sacrificing might mean completely trusting in our Heavenly Father and His plan for us. It can be hard to let go of the plans we make for ourselves or our own ideas of how we think our lives should be. We need to be willing to sacrifice what we think is best for what HE knows is best.
I know that as long as we are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to becoming more like Christ we will receive an abundant outpouring of blessings. Pray this week to know what sacrifices will lead your life to where it needs to be. Trust in Heavenly Father and allow him to direct your life.
