I have been noticing some incredible changes in my hair lately... It is much more soft, manageable, shiny, and healthy. I have been paying close attention to the products I use as well as habits I have while styling my hair to find out what has caused these changes and today I am going to share them with you!
I've mentioned in previous posts that I am a bit ok huge product hoarder. I have seriously tried just about everything out there. I have a cabinet FULL of hair creams, sprays, potions and lotions - anything your heart could possibly desire. Of all the products I have used these are by far some of my very favorite!

1. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

This has been a favorite of mine for YEARS. It smells divine and makes my hair unbelievably soft. I never have to worry about frizzy hair when I use this product. It makes my hair look and smell incredible. One of the best things about this product is that you will truly get your money's worth. Not only because it will work wonders for your hair, but a tiny bit goes a lonnng way. It will last you forever.

2. Pantene Pro V Overnight Miracle

I recently purchased this product to see if it was really worth all the hype. Annnnnd so far, it is. I wash my hair then apply some of the product to my damp hair. I let it air dry overnight and in the morning my hair is soooo soft! It honestly feels and looks more healthy. And best part is, its a totally reasonable price.

3. Curling Wand

I am embarrassed to say that it took me this long to get myself a curling wand. I never saw the purpose... I had a perfectly fine curling iron, about five actually. So why would I need this? Call me crazy but it changed my hair game. I absolutely love the way my hair looks when I use this. The curls look much more natural and I am all about that.

4. Chi Hair Straightener

Now this purchase is a bit more of a splurge. However, before you get all confused about how this made it into a "Beauty on a Budget" post, hear me out. For the longest time I would use cheap straighteners because as far as I knew, they got the job done just fine. While in some cases it did get my hair "straight", it didn't look or feel healthy. My hair would often get stuck and ripped out. I also always had to use tons of products after to make my hair look even somewhat normal.  With this straighter I never have to worry about that. My hair looks gorgeous and shiny without having to use any other products after straightening. Totally worth the money! Not to mention the money you will save on other products you would need to fix all the damage caused by cheap straighteners.

5. L'Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Volume Filler Thickening Shampoo/Conditioner

I was really skeptical about this product. I finally caved since I was currently out of shampoo/conditioner and needed to get some anyway so I figured why not? I have mentioned before, but I have very thin hair. I've never liked the idea of getting extensions so I've just learned to deal and be grateful for what I have. Now, don't get me wrong... these products did not magically give me luxuriously thick beautiful hair. I still have the same amount of hair. But I can tell you honestly that as I wash my hair with these products it honestly does feel more thick. I have noticed a difference. It isn't huge... but it is enough for me to want to continue using this product.

6. Corn Starch

Yep. You read that right. Corn starch! I literally keep a mason jar full of corn starch in my bathroom and I use it allllll the time! This is by far theeee best dry shampoo I have ever used, and trust me, I have used a ton.  Not only is it WAYYY cheaper, it seriously is so much better! Even with my brown hair it works perfectly. I swear by this stuff. You have GOT to try it! Plus, I guarantee you have some just chillin in your kitchen right now so you really have no excuse:)

Other tips...

We are all fully aware that heat isn't good for your hair, but it can be hard to give up on it. I have made a concious effort to not use any heat on my hair as often as I possibly can. I honestly save curling or straightening my hair for very rare and special occasions. I try to allow my hair to be natural as often as possible.
When drying my hair I completely gave up using towels and now I either use a soft t-shirt or I just allow my hair to air dry. I only use a hair dryer when I am in a rush to get my hair dry. Other than that I allow it to dry on it's own.
Now, my hair isn't perfect and I am no expert but I can honestly say that I have been extremely pleased with my hair lately. Pleased enough that I felt it would be worth it to share some of my tips with all of you:) Let me know if any of these work for you and if you have any other great hair tips and tricks!
